The Day After...

There is a Southern Gospel song Heaven Bound did years ago that was called, "I Think I'll Go Back to the Table." How many times did you go back to the table Thanksgiving Day? Stopped counting after the fourth or fifth time maybe? Did you get your fill? I did! Too much, I have no doubt. Wouldn't it be great if we never got full and we could eat and eat all we wanted to? In Sunday School, we are studying Heaven. Our teacher asked us this past Sunday what we thought Heaven would be like. One girl said we could eat all we wanted to and not gain a pound. That does sound like Heaven to me! The song that Heaven Bound sang wasn't about food, though. It was about going back to His table and feasting on the goodness of the Lord. Taste and see that the Lord is good! We can partake of His goodness everyday and not gain a pound...but instead we will gain more mercy, more faith, more joy, and more peace...which is exactly what we need today! The day after Thanksgiving and everyday since, I have gone back to the table and feasted upon Him...His blessings in my life. This year has been a hard one. Many disappointments I have faced. But in the midst of all the sad days, I determined within my heart to feast upon Him. I have tasted and seen that He is good. And I will keep going back to the table again and again! He is delicious!
